North Shore LIJ-Health System offers a number of courses sponsored by the American Heart Association, both for the public and healthcare professionals seeking certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver Courses

| Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) | Designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, the use of an automated external defibrillator, and the relief of choking. | Public and Professional |
| Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) Renewal Course | Course designed to review and refresh the knowledge and skills that were learned in the initial BLS HCP course. | Public and Professional |
| BLS HCP Online Part 1, Part 2 – Skills practice, and Part 3 – Skills testing with an AHA Instructor | This course is an option for healthcare providers and other students seeking an alternative to classroom-based training for first-time and renewal certification. | Public and Professional |
| HeartCode BLS Part 1 (Parts 2 and 3 may be completed using a voice assisted manikin system) | Same curriculum as BLS HCP above, but with an emphasis on patient scenarios and debriefing of correct and incorrect answers | Public and Professional |
