The team at the Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to providing the highest standards of healthcare to you, our patients.
The Division of Infectious Diseases provides over 2,000 consultations each year for patients with brain, lung, heart, intestinal, blood, skin and soft tissue infections, supporting the numerous medical programs at NSUH. Our expertise in management of operative infections facilitates successful recovery from complex cardiac, orthopedic, abdominal, thoracic, and gynecological surgery. We monitor and control infections in bone marrow transplant and immune-compromised patients undergoing cancer treatment, allowing patients to achieve successful remission from their disease. Additionally, our expertise in the management of systemic insect and animal-borne diseases is vitally important to the Long Island community. The Division also provides leadership for the infection control activities of NSUH, as well as Plainview, Glen Cove, Forest Hills, Syosset hospitals and the Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. All policies and procedures for these areas are coordinated through the Division.
