“Covered In Love" on the 4th of July

Every Baby at NSUH “Covered In Love” on the 4th of July

Robert Koehler is an obstetric tech at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH). He works with families during very difficult times in their lives and wanted to do something to make a difference. In August of 2011, he started Covered in Love Inc., an organization whose goal is to give every family a keepsake or memory of their baby while here with us at NSUH. Every month it provides and delivers knitted/crocheted baby caps and blankets to our hospital. Any baby that is placed in our NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) because of complications or any family that experiences a fetal demise receives a personally knitted cap and/or blanket.

On the 4th of July Covered in Love made sure every baby at NSUH received a special edition item designed to celebrate the 4th of July.

This organization thrives on the generosity and passion of employees and volunteers from the community. Over the past year, our donations have grown from dozens to over 1,000 items each month. For more information about Covered in Love or ways to get involved, please visit www.cilcharity.org.
