Syosset Hospital, proud member of North Shore-LIJ Health System, is a full-service community hospital with an inpatient Medical-Surgical Unit, a Telemetry Unit and an Intensive Care Unit. In addition, it offers specialized surgical services in a state-of-the-art-facility with advanced surgical technology.
Our Emergency Department, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, has received exceptionally high patient-satisfaction ratings in the Press Ganey patient surveys. The Syosset Emergency Department is a New York State Department of Health Primary Stroke Center. Syosset Hospital is also a recipient of the “Get with the Guidelines: Stroke” Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart and American Stroke Associations.
Syosset Hospital is one of the foremost centers in the region for minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, as well as laser and other advanced surgical and endoscopic technologies.
The Davis Vision Eye Surgery at Syosset Hospital offers up-to-date ambulatory care for patients in need of specialized eye surgery.
The Interventional Pain Management Center is a unique center designed to treat patients in need of interventional pain procedures. The Center houses up-to-date equipment designed to treat acute and chronic pain of benign and malignant causes and improve function as much as possible.
Syosset Hospital has a 20-bed short-term psychiatric unit. An interdisciplinary team provides assessment and treatment for our patients. An array of treatment modalities is provided, including medication, individual and group psychotherapy support and self-help groups, and recreational therapy.
Life-Saving Weight-Loss Procedures
In 2008, Syosset Hospital achieved the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence designation and was recertified in 2011. This bariatric program is located in Syosset Hospital and is one of the busiest practices in the Northeast and participates in national clinical trials.
