North Shore-LIJ Cardiologists Promote Spinning for Women’s Heart Health
March 5, 2014
Closing a month-long recognition of Go Red for Women’s Heart Health, cardiologists lead patients and supporters at an energizing spin class at SoulCycle in Roslyn Heights to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in women and funds for the Women’s Heart Health Program at the North Shore-LIJ Health System. Two cardiologists promoting exercise and spinning for heart health, on left, were Stacey Rosen, MD, vice president for women's health at the Katz Women’s Hospital, a first-time spin rider, and Evelina Gravyer, MD, an experienced rider and director of the Coronary Care Unit at North Shore University Hospital.
Heart disease is the number-one killer of American women – more than 500,000 females die annually from heart disease or stroke. Through numerous clinical and education services, North Shore-LIJ strives to empower women and men to make healthy lifestyle changes to help prevent heart disease.
