GREAT NECK, NY -- The North Shore-LIJ Health System’s award-winning television series, Medical Update, begins its 10th season on Saturday, October 13, with even more hot medical topics packed into every half-hour program.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to give our viewers the latest information on the most important medical topics, and do it in more detail than can usually be delivered on TV,” said Dr. Mike Rosen, the program’s host and a familiar face to New York television news viewers. “I’m proud to say that I host a very special medical program that has been successfully produced and is still on the air after 10 years, which is a landmark in television. As in the past, this new season promises to be most interesting, with cutting-edge medical topics discussed by top clinicians.”
Dr. Rosen has been a medical journalist since 1994 and last appeared in the New York area as correspondent (and managing editor) for the Daily HealthFeed, a syndicated nightly medical news report appearing on 50 local news affiliates nationwide, and as medical reporter for WPIX-TV. He has been the senior medical correspondent for WCBS-TV Channel 2 in New York, and also appeared on the CBS overnight network news program Up To The Minute. Many of the medical topics he covered featured North Shore-LIJ physicians. Medical Update was created and is still produced by Elaine Wohl of North Shore-LIJ’s Department of Public Relations.
During this 10th TV season, the series will highlight North Shore-LIJ medical experts who will delve into a range of timely topics, including:
