North Shore-LIJ Names Joseph Moscola Chief HR Officer

GREAT NECK, NY-- The North Shore-LIJ Health System today announced the appointment of Joseph Moscola, MBA, PA, as senior vice president and chief human resources officer. He succeeds Joseph Cabral, who is leaving in September to join the Cleveland Clinic.
Mr. Moscola, 36, a native of Valley Stream, NY who currently lives in Massapequa Park, NY, has served in a range of roles throughout North Shore-LIJ, most recently as senior vice president and executive director of ambulatory operations. In that role, he led the operations for a $1.1 billion business that included Ambulatory Services, working with the health system’s clinical and administrative leaders, the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group leadership and the health system’s Clinical Joint Ventures.
During his tenure, Mr. Moscola helped the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group achieve a “silver level of distinction” from the Regional Baldrige Performance Excellence Committee. He has also been responsible for leading efforts to successfully integrate several clinical joint ventures that have expanded North Shore-LIJ’s ambulatory footprint.
Previously, Mr. Moscola served as director of health system operations, where he helped plan and implement strategic programs across the organization. He began his career as a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery. He later transitioned to an administrative career, serving as administrative director for neuroscience at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, NY, and then senior administrative director of neurology and neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, and LIJ Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.

Mr. Moscola received a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, Jamaica, NY, an MBA from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY, and a physician assistant certificate from Catholic Medical Centers—Bayley Seton Campus, Staten Island, NY.
