New York Pain Consultants and North Shore-LIJ Southside Hospital Expand State-of-the-Art Pain Care Center at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore

New York – August 2, 2012 - Jay Enden, MD, Medical Director of North Shore-LIJ Southside Hospital and Luis Fandos, MD, Director of Pain Management at Southside Hospital and co-founder of New York Pain Consultants, are excited to announce an expansion of the comprehensive outpatient interventional pain management services at Southside Hospital located at 301 East Main Street, Bay Shore, New York.  

Dr. Jay Enden of North Shore-LIJ Southside Hospital stated, “The need for expert and responsible management of acute and chronic pain has never been more important. Our new collaboration with New York Pain Consultants brings this level of expertise to bear for the significant number of patients who suffer from such symptoms”. 
 
 New York Pain Consultants will be providing a larger presence to the pain facility as of August 1, 2012.  New York Pain Consultants, which has three offices on Long Island, has been providing treatment care at Southside for over six years. The new Interventional Pain Management Center at Southside Hospital will include an expansion of state-of-the-art medical technology to provide the most appropriate and up-to-date treatment care for pain patients.  This includes: Discography, Spinal Cord Stimulation and Medication Delivery Systems, Peripheral Nerve/Field Stimulation, Nucleoplasty and Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD) procedures. The mission of New York Pain Consultants is to provide patient focused care tailored to an individualized therapeutic approach.

 Dr. Luis Fandos, an interventional pain management specialist and anesthesiologist, stated, ”We are excited to be working with North Shore LIJ to provide a world class interventional pain treatment facility to Suffolk County.” He continued, “People in pain need to know that there is a diverse range of treatments and medications for their treatment.  Our goal is not to mask pain with painkillers but to create treatment plans that address the cause of the pain and provide the best quality of life for each patient.”

The interventional pain management suite is part of a comprehensive Spine Center that Southside Hospital offers which includes orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, neurology and rehabilitation.
