Conferences and Lectures

Staff Meeting (Monday – Noon-1PM)

The fellows attend a weekly staff meeting.

C-L Psychiatry Fellow Lecture Series (Wednesday — 9-10AM)

The fellows meet weekly with the Director of the Fellowship to discuss any Issues they may have or problems on the service. Career choices, research projects, case loads, and overall performance is discussed.

Fellows Interviewing Course — 2nd half/year (Wednesday — 10-11AM)

The fellows meet weekly with the Director of the Fellowship Program and see patients on the floors together, discuss difficult cases. Mock Board exams in preparation for the Psychiatry Oral Boards is also done.

Grand Rounds (Wednesday — 11AM-Noon)

The Department of Psychiatry at The Zucker Hillside Hospital organizes a grand round. It is a weekly presentation on Wednesdays at Hillside Auditorium.

Journal Club (Wednesday — Noon-1PM)

It is held twice a month and organized by one of the Fellows. An interesting C-L psychiatry topic is chosen; it may include review of current literature or presentation by a guest speaker or one of the house staff/attending. Lunch is provided.

Weekly C-L Clinical Case Conference (Friday — Noon-1:30PM)

The C-L Clinical Case-Conference is held every Friday. It involves the presentation of an interesting clinical case selected from the in-patient C-L service. After the presentation, the patient is interviewed by one of the attendings, followed by an open discussion. It has been a popular weekly event and is heavily attended by trainees, house staff, and attendings.
