Leading the Way in General, Adult and Pediatric Surgery
The Division of General Surgery provides comprehensive surgical care for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. All physicians are specialists in their areas, and teaching appointments are through Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. To provide and maintain state-of-the art expertise and equipment, the department is divided into six subspecialty divisions and eight sections.
We provide tertiary care for complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, as well as procedures for benign and malignant conditions of the breast, gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, pancreas and liver.
Also provided are surgical procedures for all types of hernias, including inguinal, femoral, epigastric and incisional. Another service provided by this division is the surgical management of patients with secondary to endocrine pathology such as pheochromocytoma and aldosteronoma.
