At North Shore-LIJ, the Department of Opthalmology integrates with other departments in our health system through diagnostic testing and management of patients and through expert referrals to other disciplines. We strive to meet patient needs by offering flexible appointment scheduling, same-day emergency appointments, transportation arrangements, foreign language interpreters and deaf services. Our department provides inpatient services and physicians on call for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our commitment to the community is exemplified by the service provided by the Lion’s Eye Bank for Long Island. The Eye Bank gives us not only the opportunity to serve, but also the ability to provide for research and educational opportunities.
