Colorectal Surgery Procedures

Colorectal surgery is used to treat a variety of conditions affecting the anus, rectum and colon. This includes frequently seen benign problems such as hemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas, as well as the management of malignant tumors of the bowel.

Endoscopy of the colon and rectum is commonly used for gastrointestinal screenings and procedures and include:

  • Upper endoscopy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy
  • Gastroscopy
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography (ERCP)

For complex referral cases, reoperative colorectal surgery, anorectal surgery and open and laparoscopic surgery for benign, oncologic and inflammatory bowel disease are utilized, as well.
